Cops on the lookout for auto driver who raped 10-yr-old

In a shocking incident,a 10-year-old Nepalese girl was raped and then thrown near a tunnel at Dandi Road in the Rander area on Saturday afternoon in an unconscious state. The police are now on the lookout for the autorickshaw driver who was last seen with the girl.

In a shocking incident,a 10-year-old Nepalese girl was raped and then thrown near a tunnel at Dandi Road in the Rander area on Saturday afternoon in an unconscious state. The police are now on the lookout for the autorickshaw driver who was last seen with the girl.

According to police sources,a passerby saw a girl lying in an unconscious state near a water canal on Dandi Road in Rander on Friday afternoon. He immediately informed the 108 ambulance services. The girl was taken to the New Civil Hospital for treatment. Her condition is stated to be critical.

The girl stays in an apartment block in Rander where her father works as a watchman,the police said.

Rander Inspector R H Hadiya said: “After preliminary investigations we found that one autorickshaw driver had lured the girl and her brother with chocolates. He had given them both a ride but dropped the boy midway. Later,he dumped the child in an unconscious state near a canal and escaped from the spot.”

The Rander police said that on learning from their son that their daughter was last seen with an autorickshaw driver,they contacted us,and we took them to the New Civil Hospital where they identified the child. A complaint of rape has been filed with the Rander police station by the girl’s father.

The police have launched a search operation for the accused autorickshaw driver with the help of some eyewitnesses.
