Former Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader and national spokesman of the party, Shaktisinh Gohil, has criticised Chief Minister Narendra Modi for discarding the use of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Bhavan Sachivalaya building. “Instead of naming the newly constructed blocks after Patel, they were named as Swarnim Sankul,” Gohil said.
Gohil reminded Modi that it was the Congress that named the National Police Academy after Sardar Patel in 1948. The party associated Sardar’s name with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in 1956 and named Sardar Sarovar Dam after him, Gohil said. Naming Ahmedabad airport after Sardar Patel or installing his statue there was done either by the Congress or the state government with Congress support, not by the BJP alone, he said.
In a separate statement, GPCC spokesman Jairajsinh Parmar listed ten instances where Modi “fooled” different people on different occasions. Parmar said that Modi had fooled historians by spreading “false stories” of his brave act like catching a crocodile in his village during his childhood and hiding from the Election Commission the fact of his being a married man. He said that Modi fooled people by usurping Central government’s welfare schemes in the name of state government. Modi also fooled the world by giving false figures of foreign investments during Vibrant summits, said Parmar.
