Come July,Modi to begin touring poll-bound states

Within a week of his elevation as BJP’s election campaign committee head,Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has planned a tour across the country from the first week of July.

Within a week of his elevation as BJP’s election campaign committee head,Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has planned a tour across the country from the first week of July.

Modi will initially visit Chhattisgarh,Mizoram,Delhi and Madhya Pradesh where Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year. He is also expected to hold public meetings and meetings with office-bearers of the party’s state units and RSS to plan the election campaign for the states.

A senior BJP leader said Modi will focus on UP where the party hopes to get many votes.

“Modi will come to UP after the monsoon. He will hold rallies as the party sees a potential to increase its Lok Sabha seats here. Modi will pay attention to states like UP and Bihar where a strong polarisation of votes in BJP’s favour is expected,” he said. Modi will visit UP four years after he campaigned there in 2009 elections.
