Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday slammed the UPA government for “showing Gujarat in a bad light”.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday slammed the UPA government for “showing Gujarat in a bad light”.

“Post the 2001 earthquake in Kutch,the district rebuilt itself to become a model for urban development. Towns like Bhuj and Gandhidham are considered models of urban development. Gujarat has the best development model in the country. But the Centre shows Gujarat in a bad light,” Modi said while addressing a gathering on the eve of the Independence Day celebrations in Bhuj,the district headquarters of Kutch district.

Modi was here to attend a cultural programme,Katchdo Bare Maas,at R D Varsani Kumar Vidyalaya ground.

Greeting the residents of the state and the nation on the occasion,Modi paid tribute to the Navy personnel who were killed in an explosion aboard submarine INS Sindhurakshak in Mumbai.
