The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI),which is probing the Sohrabuddin and Tulsiram encounter case, has sought the sting operation tapes on encounter policeman Rajkumar Pandian about his alleged visit to his home before the court hearing.

The CBI might take an action on encounter policeman Pandian who is an accused in their custody from four years.

Pandian was caught on camera by a local news channel as he was coming out of his house on April 29 after he had spent the whole night at his residence. After his arrival to Ahmedabad railway station on the night of April 28,he was taken to the circuit house from where he went in a private car to his residence. The CBI officials said Pandian had strictly violated the rules.

A CBI officer said,“Pandian is an accused who should have been kept in jail at Ahmedabad if he had to reach a night earlier or in a lockup of the police station close to the CBI court. However,he was taken to circuit house where he had no authority to stay. Above all,he stayed at home. It calls for an action against him”.

The CBI officials added that they would see the tapes and also question the Mumbai Police team led by Suresh Kamble that brought Pandian to Ahmedabad.

The Gujarat Police is also pressing for action against the Mumbai policemen. The state government has asked state DGP to talk to Maharashtra DGP to carry out an inquiry into Mumbai policemen. State DGP Amitabh Pathak said,“Pandian shouldn’t have been taken to the circuit house at all. However, the circuit houses and rest houses come under the purview of the PWD department and they are looking into this part of the issue. We are doing an inquiry in Gujarat. If required,we will talk to Maharashtra Police.”
