PSI,constables beaten up by Dahod villagers

Vadodara: A team of policemen were beaten up by some villagers at Limdi Nagar in Dahod on Friday night. The policemen had gone there in response to a complaint that some thieves had entered the village and the villagers had taken them in their “custody”. When a police sub-inspector and two constables reached Kantikanchan Society,they were allegedly beaten by three persons — Suresh Bhuria,Naresh Bhuria and Chheta Bhuria — who blamed the police for letting the thieves flee. A case has been registered against the three men. PSI A A Chaudhary and the two constables was injured in the incident.

Vadodara,A’bad in U-17 football final

Vadodara: Vadodara football team will take on the Ahmedabad team in the final of the Under-17 Inter-district Open Football Tournament being played at Gandhinagaron on Sunday. The Baroda District Football Association had selected the team that played several matches to reach the final. The team had defeated Rajkot team in the semi-final to reach the final.

Man dead after four-storey fall

Vadodara: Forty-two-year-old Rajubhai Salat died after falling off the fourth floor of a JNNURM scheme building in Vadodara’s Kishanwadi area early on Saturday. He was rushed to SSG Hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival. According to reports,he was leaning on the railing when he lost balance and fell. Salat,who is from Kheda district,was living in the flat here.

Man sets himself on fire,dies in hospital

Vadodara: A senior citizen living alone in a housing society in Gorwa area of the district committed suicide by setting himself on fire at his residence. He was admitted to the SSG hospital,where he succumbed to his burn injuries.
