In the run-up to the September 13 bypolls, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel urged party workers in Maninagar to set a new record by crossing her victory margin of 1.10 lakh votes in Ghatlodia Assembly constituency.

She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must be given news thumping BJP victory on all the Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat of Vadodara as his birthday gift.

Addressing a party workers’ meeting in Maninagar area for party candidate Suresh Patel, she said the victory must be matching the grand success of Modi who left here after becoming the PM. Actor-turned-polician and Ahmedabad East MP Paresh Rawal said, “It is India’s good luck that Modi came to the helm.”
