The Detection of Crime Branch has booked a Special Operation Group police constable in connection with a ponzi scheme that his son was allegedly running in the city.

The Detection of Crime Branch has booked a Special Operation Group police constable in connection with a ponzi scheme that his son was allegedly running in the city.

Constable Mehboob Sheikh reportedly helped his son Farooq by luring people into investing money in his scheme.

Farooq,who along with aides ran his office at Khanpur,allegedly promised investors a 20% interest on their investments. After allegedly collecting around Rs 1.76 crore from more than 100 people in the walled city,he shut his office and fled. The DCB has booked the constable for fraud and is probing further.
