The Raopura police have summoned Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members for allegedly staging a protest in front of the commissioner’s office at the Police Bhawan on January 16.

M S University student leaders Vikas Dubey and S P Singh had been served externment notices, following which they were summoned to the commissioner’s office.

Now,the police have summoned Dubey,Singh and other ABVP leaders for violating the commissioner’s order against protesting within the premises of the Police Commissioner’s Office.

“There were several complaints against the two students, which is why they were handed out the extern notices. Singh was here to report to the police station. The case against the ABVP members has been lodged for sloganeering in front of the Police Bhawan. It is

under investigation,” said an officer of the Raopura police station.

Niraj Jain, the legal counsel for the students, said “While Dubey could not make it to the police station,Singh did appear following the summons”. He added,“The case is still on.”

This is not the first time that students from the M S University have been served with externment notices.

University sources said Jatin “Tiger” Patel,of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI),was also served with a similar notice around three years ago after an MSU Syndicate Member was threatened.
