Around 97 per cent of the final-year B-tech students of Nirma Universitys (NU) faculty of engineering have been selected during the ongoing campus placement.
So far,97 per cent of the placement has been concluded with 534 offers, faculty of engineering director Ketan Kotecha told The Indian Express.
According to him,more than 43 companies participated in the campus interview for engineering students.
The placement was 97 per cent in computer science,100 per cent in information technology,98 per cent in civil engineering,95 per cent in chemical engineering,97 per cent in electrical engineering,93 per cent in instrumentation and control,94 per cent in mechanical engineering and 98 per cent in electronics and communication engineering.
Kotecha said the average annual salary this year had gone up to Rs 4.92 lakh from Rs 3.58 lakh offered last year. The highest package offered this year is Rs 8.25 lakh.
Among the premier organisations that came for recruitment this year included Infosys,Wipro,Accenture,Caterpillar,L&T,Essar and BASF.
According to Kotecha,other corporates like Samsung Electronics,Financial Technologies,Ford India Ltd and General Motors conducted recruitment at Nirma University for the first time.
NU,which is 100 per cent self-financed,is considered among top 25 engineering institutes in the country,with admissions done through AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). Unlike other SFIs,NU has no seats reserved under the management quota.
