1,000 kg of silver lands in EC team’s net in Rajkot

Election Commission’s static surveillance team on Tuesday seized 1,000 kg of allegedly unaccounted silver from a vehicle of angadia firm in Rajkot.

Election Commission’s static surveillance team on Tuesday seized 1,000 kg of allegedly unaccounted silver from a vehicle of angadia firm in Rajkot.

While the Income Tax team has been roped in to begin investigation into the incident,Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry is all set to hold a meeting in the evening to decide further course of action.

The Rajkot city police said when they checked mini-truck at Kuwadwa Chowk,they found that it was carrying some accounted 1,000 kg of silver. Reportedly,the silver was meant for some five jewellers in Rajkot market.

Meanwhile,the Rajkot Gold Dealers Association hit the streets protesting against the EC’s ban on cash flow.
