Tata Consultancy Services has released an app for Android devices to track election-related trends in real-time. TCS’ iElect app was built as a collaboration between two teams based in Santa Carla and Chennai.

The menu has five options that track tweets in real-time. The ‘Trending’ option gives you a glimpse of top candidates and parties trending on Twitter. If you tap on a candidate or a party, the data breaks down into a pie-chart that shows what percentage of tweets are positive, negative and neutral.

“TCS has always been a B2B company. We had the resources to build iElect and thought it would be a fun thing to do. Of course, we are not looking to monetise the app but it will help the voters to make an informed decision,” said TCS assistant general manager Harsha Ramachandra.
