PSUs send 69 requests for 36 coal blocks

Of these 36 coal blocks, only one has been earmarked for steel companies.

State-run power and steel companies on Monday submitted 69 applications for allotment of 36 coal blocks.

While 46 mines are being e-auctioned to private companies, the government had on January 22 commenced the process for allocating 36 coal blocks to PSUs.

Of these 36 coal blocks, only one has been earmarked for steel companies. PSUs like NTPC, SAIL, Nalco and Neyveli Lignite Corporation is learnt to have applied for various mines.
