Joined by PCC president Sukhwinder Sukhu and other party leaders including AICC secretary Ranjit Ranjan, Shinde praised Virbhadra Singh for his leadership in the state.
“Supreme Court had given the decision. Mercy petition was also rejected. The decision was taken after all these developments. It was not a political decision,” said Shinde.
Congress party leaders in the state went into a huddle Monday evening to discuss the party’s further strategy.
Dharavi, spread across 240 hectares had been a Congress bastion for the most part of the past two decades.
