The move comes after a 50-year-old man, who was called in by Delhi Police for questioning in connection with a murder case, allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Sonipat railway station.
The deceased Mohangiri Guruji Dayagiri alias Gautam Joshi belonged to Avahan Akhada in Uttar Pradesh.
While Mounika hanged herself following an “argument” with her mother, the reason behind 17-year-old NEET aspirant’s suicide is unknown.
Following this, her mother rushed to her neighbours and police were informed. When they broke open the door of the 11th floor flat, they found her hanging from the ceiling.
Meena, in his one-line suicide note, said post-mortem of his body should not be conducted, however his body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem this afternoon.
On Saturday morning, while her roommates – who were also doing a nursing course – left to attend classes, she told them she was unwell and would join them later, an officer said.
The family members have claimed that the police colluded with the accused and chose to ignore several complaints that were made in the aftermath of Wednesday’s incident.
“Sarika hanged herself at her home on Tuesday morning. We are yet to receive the post-mortem report but prima facie this is a case of suicide,” an official of the Pathri police station told PTI. This is second such incident in Maharashtra this year.
“The incident came to light when they returned to their flat around 9.30 pm and Singh did not open the door. They peeped in through a window and saw his body hanging from a ceiling fan,” an officer said.

The police has registered a case of accidental death. A senior police official said the Blue Whale game is one of the angles they are investigating to understand the motive for the suicide.
Sub-Inspector Harikesh Rai of Gomti Nagar police station said a cousin of Rahul’s called the police at around 3.40 am on Sunday, and said he had received a call from Shivani, who had informed him that Rahul had hanged himself.
