The CIC had last month directed the CBSE to permit examination of textiles minister Smriti Irani’s XII records, overruling the argument that this was personal information.
The Commission rejected the argument that the information was “personal information” and thus cannot be disclosed.
The Information Commissioner rejected the contention of CBSE that the information is yet to be digitised and they will have to divert resources to dig out information form voluminous records.

The event was organised at SPPU’s department of management sciences (PUMBA) where state project director of RUSA, Manisha Verma, SPPU vice-chancellor Wasudeo Gade, vice-chancellors of seven state universities and other dignitaries were present.
