In June 2014, the actress had lodged a complaint with Marine Drive police station in South Mumbai, accusing Wadia of molesting and intimidating her at the Wankhede stadium
Nearly two years after actor Preity Zinta registered a complaint of molestation and intimidation against Ness Wadia, his statement is likely to be recorded within a fortnight, police sources have told The Indian Express.
Actress-producer Preity Zinta declined to speak on the issue, saying all queries should be addressed to the Mumbai police chiefabout the details.
A spokesperson denied a report claiming that actress Preity Zinta has laid down five conditions for Ness Wadia.
“Ness’s behaviour towards me was getting more and more aggressive. From throwing burning cigarettes at my face to locking me up in rooms,” said Preity.
On June 19 this year, Wadia’s office in Worli received a total of five calls, allegedly from Pujari.
Last week, Wadia had submitted a list of nine names to the Marine Drive police.
Police officers investigating the case said they had sent the photographs to the forensic analysis department.
Wadia had submitted a list of nine witnesses but no one from the list have recorded their statements yet.
Few witnesses have confirmed that Ness Wadia “pulled” Preity Zinta by hand during a “heated” argument.
Zinta had, on June 12, registered a complaint with the police alleging that Wadia had molested her at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai
Police may summon Wadia to record his statements within the next 48 hours, a senior officer said.
Ness Wadia wrote to the Marine Drive police station on Wednesday, naming nine individuals who are said to have witnessed the alleged incidents.
Preity Zinta is gearing up to make a comeback with Neeraj Pathak’s ‘Bhaiyyaji’, in which she plays a ferocious bandit.
The police has also contacted a director at a media house and two others who were among Zinta’s invitees.
