Mulayam Singh addressing the SP headquarters where his 79th birthday was celebrated in a grand manner, sending a message of all-is-well in the party.
Stating that the alliance was the “uttar (answer)” to the “politics of anger and divisiveness”, Rahul said it would work for “progress, prosperity and peace”.
Alleging a conspiracy, Singh said, “Baseless allegations are being put on me. I continue to give my blessings to Akhilesh Yadav ji and I want to assure him that I am not against his progress.”

Mulayan Singh, however, clarified that he was not averse to merger of any party into the SP.
Amar Singh was long considered a shadow of Mulayam until the emergence of son Akhilesh, brother Shivpal, Azam Khan and Ram Gopal Yadav and the family feud within.
SP government had begun the process of withdrawing 11 cases against her almost eight months before she crossed sides.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, while presenting the awards, said: “The SP government revived the awards, which was started by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, to acknowledge the talent in the state and keep them motivated.”
“I always ask him to go amongst the people. When I ask him about his location, he tells me that he is at a programme in Lucknow.”
“I had advised the ministers. Some mended their ways but some did not. If earning money is your priority, then you should rather do business. Even I would have helped you. “
