A well-educated Jain couple from Madhya Pradesh has decided to leave behind their 3-year-old daughter and property ‘worth Rs 100 crore’ to embrace monkhood under the ‘Shwetambar’ (white clad) order of their religion.
“Both the graveyard and the temple are situated next to each other and the members of the two communities clashed over a petty issue related to alleged encroachment,” said a district official.
The minister said that to inculcate patriotism among students, the state government has already given instructions on hoisting the Tricolour and singing the national anthem in schools every day.
On August 26, the Madhya Pradesh government awarded Patel Rs 50,000 for saving the lives of children at a government secondary school in the village, by sprinting with a 10-plus-kg mortar shell found on its premises, to dump it in a nullah nearby, before it could explode.
The deceased were identified as Sharda Singh (22), Andarbai Gurjar (50), Ramkunwar Singh (35), Bhuri Singh (14) and Sohanbai (55). They all were residents of different villages in Taal tehsil, the officer said.
