New Delhi, Mar 01 (ANI): Union Minister of State for HRD Ram Shankar Katheria on Tuesday said that he had not delivered a hate speech against Muslims in Agra in the wake of the murder of VHP worker Arun Mahaur. He also denied having incited violence against Muslims. Katheria said that what has been published in newspapers was completely untrue and said that only the convicted would be punished. He also denied using words like “badla” or “hathiyaar” in his speech. Katheria also added that every BJP minister wanted peace in the country.

Police stood like mute spectator, says journalist thrashed by lawyers

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): High drama was witnessed at the Patiala House court yet again on Wednesday where two groups of lawyers were seen raising slogans inside the court premises and beating up each other including journalists. One of the journalists from Firstpost Tarique Anwar on Wednesday said that there were two groups in the Patiala House court, one was “pro-Kanhaiya” and another one was “anti-Kanhaiya” group. He added that when he took a photo of the scuffle, lawyers started beating him up and police stood like a mute spectator. He further added that he has photos to prove and can identify them. Earlier on Monday, a group of lawyers and others, including Delhi BJP legislator O.P. Sharma, were seen beating up reporters and students, calling them ‘anti-national’.

Missing teen’s body found near UP CM’s residence

Lucknow, Feb 16 (ANI): A body of a Class 12 girl, who went missing on February 10, was recovered this morning from near Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s residence here. The girl had left for school on February 10 and when she did not return, her parents filed an FIR. The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted. Lashing out at the UP Government, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya said this incident shows how irresponsible is the state police and government. New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Reacting over the arrest of former Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani, Congress leader P.C. Chacko said the police cannot act in disproportionate manner. He added that before arresting the lecturer, police should assure whether he was involved in the incident or not. He further said that the police should not proceed without clear evidence as the action was taken in a hurry.
